About Us

“More than a society MCS aims at being a key player in development of the researching and argumentative acumen of the budding lawyers of XLS”

The Moot Court Society (MCS) is the student committee entrusted with the responsibility of administering and facilitating all mooting related activities at Xavier Law School, SXUK and upholding the high standards of excellence in the field of mooting.

This can best be described as an activity that comes closest to being a lawyer while studying at law schools. It involves identifying legal issues out of a complex factual plot and doing exhaustive research followed by drafting memorials and finally enhancing their argumentative skills before the eminent judges. MCS aims at developing the skills of the students through various activities organized by the society.

MCS has begun their journey with a Memorial Drafting Competition, Sculpture, 2022 in the month of October, 2022 where more than 200 students of Xavier Law School have participated.

MCS looks forward to:

•Planning, organizing and executing National Moot Court Competitions along with several Intra Moot Court & Drafting Competitions.

•Developing future mooters, as well as to inculcate an interest in mooting in the university.

•Encouraging participation in mooting from all batches, organize workshops and other activities in every semester.

The Convener, Dr. Rajrupa Sinha Roy sculpts the MCS to put forward its best and consistently encourages every aspiring mooter to move out of their comfort zones and engage in relentless exposure. The Core Committee consisting of 15 student members are dedicated in simplifying the process of mooting by presenting their availability to every law student, attending to their queries and issues regardless the hour of the day. Loyalty, integrity and discipline are the three key words which hold the committee together. The Moot Court Society will only come to its entirety with the involvement and dedication of every law student of Xavier’s Law School.
